Mansfield has a rich history of great choral singing dating back more than a century. In the 1960's, under the leadership of Robert Cronquist the orchestra began to use some of those choral groups in concerts. A Symphony Chorus was formally established as a permanent part of the Mansfield Symphony Society in 1977 with Calvin Y. Rogers of Ashland College as choral director.
Each year the orchestra and singers present a number of programs incorporating the talents of our local singers. Selected members of the chorus also perform as needed for solo and chorus parts in operas and other programs. A Christmas pops concert also is presented each year combining the talents of all musicians.
Thanks to the many years of service under Dr. Richard Wink, the chorus has continued to thrive. The 2007-08 season brought us a new choral director, Deb Logan. Check back here for information on auditions, and how you can be a part of the Mansfield Symphony Chorus!
