The Renaissance Performing Arts Association proudly announces that it will host the fundraising event TOM CROGHAN...A Tribute Celebration on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 3pm to 8pm in the Renaissance Theatre. Dr. Tom Croghan has been a huge supporter of the arts and a strong promoter of arts education in Mansfield. This fundraising open house, chaired by Rollie Harper, has been coordinated by a committee that includes Tom's wife Judy and a few of their close friends who want to make sure his hard work and dedication are recognized long into the future by securing an endowment in his name.

Renaissance President and CEO Terri Bergman comments, "I have only had the extreme pleasure of knowing Tom for a short time, but in that time his passion for the arts has touched me greatly. The Renaissance is greatly honored to be able to host this event in honor of this wonderful doctor, teacher, musician and humanitarian." Tickets to attend TOM CROGHAN...A Tribute Celebration are $10 and are available through the Renaissance Box Office or at the door. All proceeds from this benefit, along with host committee contributions, will be used to establish an endowment in Tom's name that will be held at the Richland County Foundation.

Tom Croghan, the "Doctor of Jazz", is also being honored during this event by the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

TOM CROGHAN...A Tribute Celebration will include entertainment by Frank James Boyd, Jr. & The HooDoo Boys, Crosswinds featuring Louise Salvador, Jimmy Vincent & Stallion, and of course, Tom Croghan & Friends. These bands will showcase their talents through the duration of the fundraiser. Attendees will enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres from Ed Pickens' Café on Main, which have been funded through the generosity of Don and Sharon Granter.
