Radric Davis is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Radric dubbed the stage name Gucci Mane after his father known as "Gucci Mane". Davis always enjoyed writing poetry as a child. However, he never imagined that this peaceful past time experience would later lead to him becoming one of the leading rappers signed to Atlantic records. Nor could he have envisioned from his humble beginnings that he would also own and operate his own label called "So Icey Entertainment."

Davis relocated with his single mother to Atlanta, Georgia when he was in the fourth grade. At times, the road ahead was a culmination of bitter sweet and uncertainty. As is the case with many youth, the burden of opportunities, peer pressure and choices result in a test that may fail. Many youth do not recover....unless redirected. Davis is a prime example of redirection.

Davis began working in a recording studio when he was 14, a privilege that many hopeful interns never experience. There he was influenced by such artists as Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC, Eightball & MJG, and Lil' Flip. At age 19, Davis began selling cocaine on the streets of Atlanta, until his path was altered by another rapper, nFiver. nFiver reminded Davis of his great potential and encouraged him to stop selling drugs.

Many believe that, "troubles fashion us for great things to come." Davis has certainly had his share of controversy. However, predestined for immense things he has emerged victorious and triumphed over all of his adversities.

Gucci Mane's first single "Icy" peaked at #23 on the Billboard magazine Hot Rap Tracks charts, and his album Trap House peaked at #101 on the Billboard 200. His second album Hard 2 Kill was released in 2006, followed by Trap-A-Thon and Back to the Trap House in 2007, all of which sold well as independently released albums. After his first single "Black Tee" was frequently played in Atlanta urban radio, Davis earned a contract with Big Cat Records, subsequently releasing his debut album Trap House in May 2005; the album hit number one on the Top Heatseekers chart. His follow up albums Hard 2 Kill ,Trap-A-Thon, Back to the Trap House also succeeded on the Top Heatseekers and Top Independent Albums charts.

Gucci continues to reign as one of the "Dirty South's" most notable artist. Of equal importance, Gucci continues to make strides within his career as well as in business. Gucci vows that the best has yet to come.... and promises to continue to deliver sounds that are sought after. Currently, he is working on a host of projects including the launching of other talents.
