This full day conference will begin at 8AM and will be held in the historic Renaissance Theatre and The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites next door to the theatre. It promises to be an incredible day of informing, enlightening, brainstorming, reflecting, inspiring, motivating and celebrating!
The keynote address will be delivered by Tony and Emmy Award winning actress, and four time Oscar nominee, Jane Alexander. Ms. Alexander was the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts from 1993 to 1997.
Following the theme Frames…Bridges…Sparks, Arts in Action will convene with reflection on the importance of arts education in schools and proceed to talk about the present state of the arts. The motivating workshops will offer participants the opportunity to network and learn about recent developments in the field of community arts. Brainstorming discussions will be held on the importance of how these partnerships can promote creative development, foster cross-cultural conversations and understanding, and strengthen building for social change by working together through arts initiatives. New possibilities for collaboration will be envisioned, sparking excitement, change and the celebration of the arts.
