- Shelley’s Favorite Place to Travel: I’ll take a great shopping trip to Michigan Avenue in the Windy City any day! Of course, a beautiful sandy beach in the Caribbean is nice too.
- Shelley’s Favorite Show at the Renaissance: Peter Pan – when the windows open wide and Peter flies into the Darling children’s nursery – well, it’s absolutely magical!

Shelley enters and exits the theatre through the west side stage door every day. Her greatest joy is to see the stage! “That always reminds me why I do what I do at The Renaissance,” she says. “It’s all about putting the show on the stage for you. How magical to hear the overture play and the curtain raise….how thrilling to see Robert Franz raise his baton to conduct the wonderful musicians of The Mansfield Symphony….how exciting to anticipate the first downbeat of a great rock band!”
Shelley is often asked “how can you do what you do”? Her answer is always “how could I not do what I do”? As the Development Director, Shelley is responsible for the contributed income of the theatre……the sponsors, the Renaissance members, the Symphony donors, the grants, the special projects and, of course, the parties! Shelley raises about $450,000 each and every year to keep the theatre operating. “The theatre world is one of constant change, and my 10+ years at The Renaissance have certainly been amazing.”
